What is ThoroCap?
ThoroCap is a comprehensive thoroughbred, quarter horse,
and greyhound racing handicapping service offering online and printed tip sheets. Based out of Hot Springs,
Arkansas, home of Oaklawn Park, ThoroCap regularly handicaps a number of
tracks, including Lone Star Park, Louisiana Downs. ThoroCap offers on-demand
handicapping for all U.S. thoroughbred and greyhound tracks.
Why Should I Subscribe to Your Service?
There are really only two reasons to subscribe to any
tipping service: price, and more importantly, performance. Our daily,
multi-day and full-season subscription prices are extremely
competitive. And our statistical performance is among the best in the
industry.
For about the cost of a single two-dollar bet each day,
you will have access to the most accurate information available. Whether
you prefer straight wagers or exotic bets, ThoroCap provides you with all
the information you need to win BIG.
How Can I Find Out How Well ThoroCap Tip Sheets
Perform? ThoroCap maintains a detailed archive of our
performance at every track. This information is listed by handicapper when
multiple handicappers offer selections for a single track and is available
to the public on the ThoroCap website. Simply click on "Performance
Summary" at the bottom of our home page to access the data.
How Does ThoroCap Calculate its Success
Rate?
To calculate our summary statistics, we
look at the total number of horses
recommended that finished in the money, regardless of position, less any
horses we picked that scratched. For a nine race card, we would report an
18-26 success rate (18/26 x 100 = 69%) if 18 of our horses finished in the
money and one of our selections scratched (9 races x 3 winners - 1 scratch
= 26.) We use the same process in determining individual race results.
IE: if all three of our horses in a given race finish in the money, we
will report a Trifecta win regardless of our projected finish order. We
will never vary the formula to manipulate the results.
How Does ThoroCap Calculate the Money Earned by it's Selections?
When reporting Exacta and Trifecta earnings, we assume that a $2.00 box
was played on all three of our selections in every race. For individual
horse earnings, we assume that each horse was played for $2.00 across.
Since individual success is dependent on the way the bets are placed, the
amount of money won or lost in a given race will vary by bettor.
How Do I Subscribe?
Subscribing to ThoroCap is fast and easy.
Just click on "Subscribe" in our menu bar and select the package
you wish to purchase. You will
be directed to our new user submission form. Enter your information in the
fields provided. The Username, Password and E-mail Address fields are
required to activate your account. Submit the form and
proceed with payment. Your account will be activated upon payment.
Please note that Daily,
Weekly, Semi-Annual (half-season) and Annual (full-season) subscriptions
will be automatically renewed by PayPal at the end of the subscription
term. If you do not wish to have your subscription renewed automatically,
you may cancel future purchases by logging into your PayPal account and
canceling your subscription prior to the next billing period. Cap on Demand purchases are not automatically renewed.
Are Single-Day Copies Available Online
or at the Track?
Yes. Single-day copies can be purchased
online and at selected retail outlets. Select
"Retail Outlets" from the menu bar to find out where you can
purchase a printed copy.
Where are the Tip Sheets and How Do I Get to
Them?
To access your tip sheet, click on
"Member Area" in our menu bar and select
the tip sheet you have purchased from the menu. You will be directed to
the calendar for that track and handicapper. Select the tip sheet you wish
to view from the Event menu to be directed to your tip sheet. You
will be prompted for your username and password.
Are the Numbers in the Official Program
Ever Different from ThoroCap's Selections?
Generally, they are the same. However, post
positions are subject to change, so it is important to verify the name of
your horse before betting if possible. ThoroCap requires its handicappers to include the name of each of their selections on
all tip sheets, so this is rarely a problem.
What Happens if I Pay, but Can't Access
the Tip Sheet?
ThoroCap will make every effort to ensure
that our selections are available every racing day. In the event a
subscriber is unable to access our selections due to a technology failure
caused by either ThoroCap, its payment service, or its webhost, or if
unforeseen circumstances prevent a ThoroCap-affiliated handicapper from
providing selections for a race during the subscription period, ThoroCap
will immediately refund the subscription fee for each missed day. Technical

and 9:00 pm CST on racing days.
